It's with heavy hearts we have to say
our beautiful Lily has gone away
She had the brightest eyes we had ever seen,
And wore a beautiful fur coat that would out shine a queen
She was never prissy but walked with an aire
and oh so polite, you could take her most anywhere.
She could run like the wind and could catch
any tennis ball she chased
She'd nudge our hands with her nose and
stayed with us when we had problems to face
You could not find a friend nearly so dear
Because no matter the trouble she always stayed near
She was one of a kind, a precious girl,
so warm, so sweet, with a body of a
bulldozer that knocked us to our feet.
She has given us so much, more then we deserve
we only hope we gave her enough in return.
She's with her guardian angel, to frolic and play,
wagging her tail; pushing her nose in the snow;
sitting in her kiddie pool and dreaming her day's way.
May the sun always shine on you and warm
your heart. The memories will be felt with
laughter and tears, but the gift of having you
in our lives will last for years.
