I went there for a big dog to protect me
One with a ferocious bark and looked mean that would save us from everything
Then I saw you there all curled up in the corner looking lost and scared
When I saw age 7 on your cage, I knew if I didn't act you'd never see your day
A high kill shelter you had no chance but something in you made me give you a second glance
I drove home looking at you in the back seat wondering what was i thinking
I remember coming home from work after a terrible day driving up seeing you in my window and suddenly everything was ok
I can't believe how fast you became my everything. You filled a hole I never knew was empty.
The baby came and I was nervous, if you'd share me
You stepped aside, took the back seat and grew on her just like you did me.
You're not just a dog and I can't put into words what you mean to me.
No one will ever understand our bond although its so easy to see.
There will always be a special place in my heart for my Molly.
