Oh Girls I remember the day we went to the pound looking for just one dog. We got to a kennel that had the cutest puppy in it. Garbo was a coonhound. She had her big floppy ears perked and was wagging her tail, not barking like the other two. She was just looking up at us as if to say take me home with you. So we had our private visit with her and decided to make her our own. As we were leaving one of her kennel mates escaped from the kennel and came running over to us. Katie is what we ended up calling her after taking an hour to convince our parents that we could care for two dogs. It was fate that Katie ran to us. She needed to be with her sister Garbo. Katie was a cayotte mix. She was so gentle with everyone. Katie and Garbo grew old together. For about 13 years they made their mark in our lives. They were traveling dogs, they moved cross country with us in the back of the buick. I had to hand feed them but they didn't care. They took turns eating out of my hand. Then Katie started loosing her fur. I took her to the vet and they said she had allergies. Then she started to loose weight. We had to put her to sleep a little more then a year ago. We all took it hard but not as hard as Garbo. She couldn't handle it I guess. She passed in her sleep about two months after Katie. I miss my girls so much but I cherrish the memmories that i have of them.
