My Best Friend
by Jessica Donnelly.........................................
Tigger may seem like an ordinary cat to some people, but to me, she will always be one of my best friends in the world. Out of my three cats, she was the personality. We referred to her as the "cold cut kitty". All you had to do was open the fridge and there she was. Meowing and staring at you with those big green eyes. She would open the cabinet doors when she was hungry and you weren't paying attention to her. She would lick the corners of the doorways for reasons we'll never know. She knew when it was bedtime and that her place was by my side. Tigger would eat anything you would, she was just like a lap dog. She would do the "worm", rolling around on her back, all 17 pounds of her, in the sun. She would wrestle with her younger brother, and most of the time, would win. She loved to lay in her princess bed and watch me. She loved me unconditionally no matter what. Words can not begin to describe the way I felt when I knew her time was up. The hardest thing I ever has to do was decide that her pain was too much to go on. How do you let go of someone who for 16 years was there for every tear, laugh, smile, or bad word? She never judged me or told me what to do. She just let me talk and never stopped listening. She lent her fur to wipe my eyes and licked my hand to tell me I would be ok. The love I felt from that cat is amazing, she shared so many memories with me and my fanily and left a lasting impression on anyone who encountered her. Anyone who has felt that bond between parent and furry child knows that no one will ever take their place. I don't want to forget about Tig and I will never try. I know she is in her kitty heaven, waiting for me to join her. So, Tig, play like you never played, and keep on eye on Mommmy. I miss you so much and would give anything to have you back, but my memories will keep you alive in my heart. No one can take that from us. I love you so much, Tiggy Tig.
