Well, here comes another summer without my Prince.A regal black tri australian sheperd,he was every inch a prince. He loved to go on hikes and swims. His love to swim could challenge any retriever. He was attracted to water like a duck.I often took him to a large,100 plus acre feild to let him swim, run, sniff, and chase birds. He lit up like s christmas tree when i let him loose.
He'd play in the streams at my parents house. He'd splash and play for hours.Granma's house was just so much fun!No matter where we went though, wether it a small stream or 100 acres,he always ran back to check on his mom.His heart was bursting with love and loyalty.Once home,he sacked out at my feet, happily exhausted from his day of fun.
As I smell the honeysuckle, cut grass and hay,and the summer rains, these memories and more flood back.He was so young and full of health and life.He never knew a harsh word or hand, just kindness and love.He might have been anti social to strangers, but no matter what the people have said,he wasn't crazy like they said.they just never took the time to get to know him like i did.
Now I have Bailey, the beautiful, mishcheivious beagle. She just turned 1 may 25th.15 months has passed since Prince went to be with God. I've finally started remembering my boy not with sadness, but with happiness.I look foward to this summer with Bailey as she can come with me and enjoy the things prince did.he will never be forgotten, but has given me a fresh start. We will always be grateful to our favorite "dude".
