R.I.P Chili
by Jg Gaulding.........................................
When I was 10 all I ever wanted was a bearded dragon and for my 15th birthday I got 2! I was so excited that I got 2 new baby beardies Rex and Chili. When I was reading online it said I should feed them some veggies, so I did. I went to target to get some lettuce and carrots. But after a couple of days I noticed Chili look sick. It wasn't after 4 days that I found out I gave Chili iceberg lettuce and that is extremely dangerous for baby beaded dragons. On the 5th day I knew I had to take him to the vet because he looked terrible. But on that day I had school, when I woke up for school I saw him laying sideways like a fish does when a fish dies and I was thinking to myself that he is dead so i started to cry but he wasn't. He was moving around with his eyes shut and he looked so weak because the iceberg lettuce he ate made him so sick he didn't eat or drink. So when I went to school that day I was texting my sister saying "take me to the vet after school because Chili is not doing alright. When I got home I asked my sister if she was ready and she said Chili's dead. I only had Chili for at least 9 days and when she told me this I didn't want to believe it was true. But it was, I went in my room to see him dead in the container I got him in. I felt like I failed him as a owner and as a friend. If I could go back in time and do anything I would have never gave Chili that iceberg lettuce. Whenever I see my other bearded dragon or see iceberg lettuce I think about Chili. I feel so bad for what I had done to that poor baby. I was preparing 5 years to get a bearded dragon and when I get 2 I lost 1 cause I made the most stupid mistake of my life. R.I.P CHILI I WILL ALWAYS LOVE AND MISS YOU! Words cannot describe how sorry I am and how much of a retard I feel like.
