"Oh dear" said Buttons, I'm awfully worried because Jill, Catriona and Fiona (my mummies) were very sad when I went because they worried I would be in pain :(. How do I let them know that now I can walk and run now just like my brother Rusty. How do I tell them I am ok?!"

"Well", began Jackson to whom he was dressing, "You see Buttons, they know you are because that is what happens at the Rainbow Brigde, we all get better and we all enjoy our new lifes more because of it. See how much better my leg has gotten?"

Buttons looked at his leg, and at his own. "Mine too!" he gasped, "look at how furry it is now, no more pathetic fuzz for me :p"

"So did it hurt when you died?" Jackson asked, "I thought I was just falling asleep only when I woke up, the pain didn't hurt anymore.."

Buttons thought for a moment, "Well", he began, "it was hard to breathe at the end, but Jill held my head the whole time, even although she was so scared and so sad, but Fiona told her it was ok and they both stroked my head and Catriona kissed my head and the pain just sort of went away. I miss them though...do you think they will miss me? I worry they will think they could have done more.."

"You can bet your furry we arse Jill is sitting at home crying because she cant hug you right now weeman, now quit moping, you'll see them and the Ruster soon enough, I have some guys I want you to mee.."

And together they ran off into the meadows to look for Fluffy and her freinds and for the first time in ages, even although he was alone, Buttons felt that he was finally free and because of that he was quite the happy little ferret.
