A TRIBUTE TO BIRD
One day as I whiled away a sweet chirping called to me. I cannot roam as others so home is my sanctuary. I went to my front door and a sweet Robin I did see. He came for a bath and drink you see. He'd splash and splash putting on a show just for me. I then would speak to BIRD so tenderly. Tho we spoke not the same ,but he learned his name and always came hopping to me. He would perch when done on his glass bird bath then proudly sit on the gazing ball glass overlooking the yard and his tree. He came many times each day to pay me a visit. When I asked of him can you jump back in he didn't hesitate for minute. Little did I know soon he'd be meeting his end. Wildfire smoke and scorching heat covered the city. The wildlife how I did pity. I worried for my feathered friend hoping I would see him again. I heard a splash and quickly I dashed such a sweet sight to see, but he seemed not the same to me. For now he rested on the ground so near to me. I got him a drink and kneeled down with water to cool him. His gaze grew dim as I gently caressed him and spoke so lovingly. I love you dear BIRD please don't die as tears streamed down my weeping eyes. His eyes then closed never to open again. I cried BIRD is dead. I've lost my sweet friend whatever shall I do? He was my highlight each and every day. We laid him to rest by a solar lit plaque custom made in his honor with his name. I said in my prayer dear God please take care of BIRD for me. He is now free and may he soar in heaven's sky healthy with thee. Our time was so short and he made each day special for me. I know when my time comes I will not be flying alone. He'll be waiting for me! God bless you my feathered friend!!! 💙
