Last Favor
by Joe M.........................................
I beleive these would be the last words
from our dearly departed friends

Remember me
Thank you for the chance of a good home and the time we
had together, although it seemed short, It was all that was
meant to be. No matter how we parted,
please don't blame yourself,
life is to short. Remember me,
don't be sad and as a favor I ask you to
give a chance to another,
your first smile will wipe those tears
away and when your time comes,
I will be waiting because

I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth, to dance
upon the rainbow; Look sunward, I've climbed, and joined
the tumbling mirth Of sun-split clouds-
and done a hundred things You have not dreamed
of- There, I'll chase the shouting wind along
and run through footless halls of air.

Up, up the long delirious burning blue
I've topped the wind-swept heights with easy grace,
Where never lark, or even eagle flew; And while silent,
I'll trod The high untrespassed sanctity of peace,
until we meet again.
