Molly

MOLLY
1993-2006

We sent Molly to the Rainbow Bridge this week,
And is seems like all we done is weep.

While we know is was only humane
It's so hard to hide the pain

Tears we shed openly
She gave us love and loyalty

Brendan and Sebastian saw her coming,
They gave a her great homecoming

As a puppy she gave us no rest,
But her remaining years she was the best

Best friend I mean and always with us,
She logged more miles than a greyhound bus
Car, truck or plane
Never once did she complain.

Many places she lived with us
And never once did fuss
Happy just to be with us

I'd take my keys from my pocket
She was at my side faster than a rocket
Rides, no matter near or far
She love to be with us in the car

When to work with me she came
She thought what a fun game
And when I left her home all day
When I came back she was ready to play

Whenever I had a bad day
She'd pick up a toy as if to say come on dad, lets play
That would end my bad day

Winter, spring, summer or fall
She couldn't wait to fetch her ball
Always had to be two
As across the lawn she flew

When I took the stance of a pitcher
She would sit and be my catcher
'Strike' I'd call
As she caught the ball.

She also was a soccer goalie too
And against her, I scored few

Hide and seek was another game
She played with glee
But how alarmed she became
When she couldn't find me

Loved the water as Golden's do
Across the street to the pond she flew
Did I not close the deck screen door
yes, but could open too

While shoveling snow we had so much fun
As I threw the snow after it she would run
When I finished for the day
I could always hear say
Please God let is snow tomorrow so we again can play

Meals were special for her also
She knew shed always get a morsel

When I was sick and laying in bed
She leaves my side only to be fed
Back she comes it is clear
She just has to be near

The past year as I worked from home
In my office I was never alone

While I work here every day
I sure she's not very far away

At some future date
I'm standing at the Rainbow Bridge Gate
She'll comes running shouting this is "great"

My best friend is here,
I hear her shout
I wished for this every year,
Together again from day this out.
