That little light that shined so bright
Has faded into time.
That little light that shined so bright
Still shines in this heart of mine.
After we took her life
I held her to my breast.
Her lifeless little body
Her soul had gone to rest.
That day will live in my memory.
I'm sorry we had no choice.
My precious little friend
Has gone to her final rest.
She was so calm and trusting.
No reason not to be.
Little did she know
She would not go home with me.
As she laid her little head
On my hand one last time
I knew her precious soul had gone
And I was left to pine.
