Shadows on the ridge
by Joseph Doherty
Now my life my world has been eclipsed-today I lay my pet to rest, and as the sun begins to set, memories turn to shadows on the ridge-now underneath the rainbows bridge-another one of man's best in spirit lives- even as all things must pass-there's got to be a way to make the best things last-letting go is so hard to do-in the absence now a darkness that I never knew-as I call to him he runs to meet me from the bridge-and disappears into shadows on the ridge...
