We should never have to say goodbye to any person or animal that we love. We should never have to feel the pain of being without them. We should never have to suffer daily the sorrow of a broken heart. We should never have to survive in a world without their love. We should never have to struggle to recall their face or eyes or voice or bark or purr. We should never have to wonder if we did everything possible to save them. We should never have to look for them around each corner or in the yard, when we know that they are not there. We should never have to just have memories.
