Angel Bear, "A True Angel"
by Julie .........................................
Angel was brought to me around June 1995, while standing in a pet shop. The employee placed her on my shoulder and as she began to lick me, I new I had to have her. I cannot recall how we came to agree on the name "ANGEL BEAR" but looking back today as my friend is gone, I cannot say enough about how this name fit her.

Angel was truly a sweet, loveable, partial long haired dachshund that fell in love with everyone she met. Never did anyone come her way that she barked or growled at. Yet, we always knew she was there to protect us.

We are fortunate that she is living on in her 2 daughters that we have, but still laugh at when she delivered pups and then Pooh, her one daughter delivered pups. Angel was the greatest mother. Pooh, on the other hand, gave hers to Angel to raise after only 2 days of feeding them. Angel, being the dutiful gracious mother, took over for Pooh and raised her puppies as well.

When Angel stopped eating last week, we knew there was a problem as Angel ALWAYS ate and never turned down food:) After 3 long, agonizing days in the doggy hospital, we were so lucky to bring her home for one last day with her family. She endured everything to make one last attempt at being with us if only for 15 more hours.

Although I know today she is in a better place, my heart is broken as she always looked at me from her bed whether it be in the middle of the day or night to show love to me. Angle Bear, you are missed already and I know that one day I will see you again and that is what will keep me going. (1-26-95 to 6-16-10) RIP my baby
