Goodbye Brutus
by Kelley Morrison.........................................
Several months ago I wrote a story about our Brutus. He had been diagnosed with cancer in November and they gave us 2 weeks with no treatment. He was strong my big dog, he made it thru Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, Valentines day, and him mommy and daddys anniversary on APril 11th because he knew we wanted our best man to be ther for that day. A day later he took such a turn for the worse and we spent his last few days with him down at his pond and laying in the living room hgolding him and watching cartoons and movies which he loved. On April 15th our vet came and our baby boy went to the rainbow bridge. We held him so tight and his brothers Bear and Oliver were right there with him. The next day we took Bear and looked for his rainbow. When we found it and daddy and I knew you were safe at the rainbow bridge! It has been 2 months today and we still miss him so much. His urn sits in our bedroom and we talk to him every day. We miss you Brutus. I look for you everywhere, I miss my little duck following me around the property and being my helper! Bear looks for you, he doesn;t understand that you aren;t coming back. You spent every day of your lives together as littermates and best pals. He is lost without you. The futon looks so empty without you. Daddy misses his shop helper and your bully talk. We still cry for you all the time sweet boy! But I know you know that! We did the right thing for you baby boy. When you stopped eating I knew you were done and had fought all you could. Your last day you were brave and ate lots of your favorite cookies for daddy, and he cried so hard cause he hadn;t given you just one more! We miss you big dog. You were our first baby boy and you will always be so special to us! Mommy, daddy and your brothers love you so much! Kiss Whisper and gramma Dottie for us! I know she is giving you lots of love and kisses every day for me! I love you Bru. You will always be my baby. Mommy
