Friday 09/12/2008, my girl Mia went to heaven.
15 years ago, someone came into my life and gave me something I never knew I was missing, true love. She was donated to the police department I was working for at the time. The Chief asked if I wanted to be the K-9 officer, sure I said never having a dog before. It was love at first sight, a beautiful sable colored shepherd. Long story short she did not work long, the Mayor changed his mind and she became all mine. She knew when I was hurting or needed a friend putting her head on my lap or a kiss on my face. Mia was so friendly and loving even my dad who did not like dogs always asked about her and loved watching when I went out of town. She would meet me at the door when I came home and would sleep in my door way at night. It's been short of two days that she's been gone, the emptiness is huge. I hope she knew how much I loved her and wish she was still here.
