My one and only Niko
by Kristin Karl.........................................
When Niko was a puppy, he chewed everything in the house. he chewed our couch, end tables, corners of the stairs, dining room table, each and every pool table pocket to a brand new curio cabinet. Niko was one of a kind. He had such a uniquie personality. He was very stand offish. Niko was gorgous, he was black and white and had blue eyes. He loved to go out and kill rabbits and bring me suprises, like one time he dropped a rabbits head on the living room rug. He was so proud. Niko and i did so many things together, we went out for icecream, loved to go for car rides, i took him to work with me. I even would dress him up for halloween. Niko was loved by so many people. My mother who passed away loved him so much, he was her favorite dog. Niko was diagnosed with a disease called Cushions. He was an older dog that we thought was unfair to to put him through a vigorious surgury. We though we would let him live the rest of his life as is. He was the boss of three other dogs at home. Niko had a better life than most people. We treated him like a prince. He had his doggy doors and his own patio outside in the yard! I cant tell u enough how much he loved snowstorms. I froze outside every winter to take photos of him playin with his brothers and his sister in the snow. Niko would burry his face, and roll around in the snow. U could never get him to come inside. He is what u would call a snow dog! On May5,2010, Niko was put down. Dr Bart from Glenville vet was his vet all his life. He took awesome care of him. It broke my heart to make that decision, but it was best for Niko. It was selfish to keep him around for me. Niko was brave. I held him in my arms and told him i loved him as he slipped away. I will miss him so much and i know one day i will be with him again. But until then, he is up in heaven with my mom and his brother Seargent looking down at me. Niko will always be in my heart and will never be forgotton.
