I want to tell a story about a very special friend....Her name was Tootie, she was a red miniature weiner dog. She came into my life in a kind of unusual way. She actually was my sister's dog. She got her for my niece thinking my niece would stop asking for a sibling. It didnt work...and so Tootie came to live with my husband and I when she was about 5 months old. She was just exactly what our home needed. She was the light of our lives. She was especially near and dear to my husband. Wherever he was you could always be sure she was somewhere very near. We lost her at the tender age of 3 to an unexpected injury to her back that paralyzed her hind quarters. The darkest day of our lives was having to put her to sleep. We had a very compassionate vet who allowed us to hold her and be with her till she took her last breath. I count myself a very priveledged person to have shared 3 yrs of my life with her. I was there when she came into our lives and I had the honor of being there when she quietly slipped away. I know she is in a better place across the rainbow bridge just waiting for the day that we can all be together again.....My precious Tootie baby I will never forget you and I love and miss you.....Love your mommy
