I went to the State Fair in Pueblo, CO last August. I was searching up and down the aisles in the Bunny Barn for I wanted a rabbit of my very own. Of all of the hundreds of rabbits in that barn as soon as I saw Bunbun I stopped because I knew she was the one. One of her ears pointed toward heaven and the other one pointed at me. At that time, I didn't know why.
The first time he saw her, my husband said "Why didn't you at least get a cute one?" But after a week, we both knew she wasn't cute, she wasn't ugly, she was absolutely beautiful.
Bunbun was shy and not very social. She was just getting past her people nervous after six months. She would come up and fap my ankle with her nose if I was sitting at the computer and then run away like she had just pulled off the ultimate prank.
She would "bust a move" and jump up in the air, for joy, we think.
She was taken from us too soon, my husband says she came to us for a reason, but she wasn't with us long enough to live it out and let us know.
I think she came to us to show us how special all bunnies are and how we can care for another one, too, to honor her. I say, Not yet.
Now instead of one in a million rabbits in the Bunny Barn, she is a one in a million star in the sky. We miss you, Bunbun, are so sad. I'm sorry.
