My Dearest Velvet
by Linda Thompson.........................................
My Dearest Velvet,

From the time you came through the door you captured all our hearts. You became Mama's beautiful Golden Eyed Girl. Then our little Queenie came and you became her mother. You were lost, and God sent you to us. I am ever so thankful that for 10 years I had the honor and joy of loving you, and having you as my friend. You were always there, never cared where that might be.

We went 636,000+ miles together, and then we came home, and you had freedom, space, and 4 more glorious years. Each night on that lonely highway you laid between the seats and stayed with Mama. You never cared if it was rough or smooth, you stayed with me in the dark of night. When I would get out of the truck at night you sat in the seat and watched in the mirror to make sure I was alright. You saved me several times at night when a bad person came up. You are Mama's special angel, and the true essence of my soul.

You not only raised our Queenie but you taught Mom more compassion and understanding for all of God's Creatures than I had ever known. I love you so much, and now I am so lost and so very lonely. You have gone with the angels and are no longer in pain. I know you are walking Heaven's perimeter and keeping it safe. You are now with your Zeus and Mr. Wiggles. I know my heart will heal, but it will always be empty now that you are not here with me. Someday Mom will be in heaven and I know you will be there waiting to give me Sweet Velvet kisses.

I love you Velvet and I am so sorry that I could not make you better. I am sorry for letting you down. Please forgive me. Mom love's you so very much.

For all you were, for all your love, for all the joy, for all the compassion, I love you . Thank you so much Velvet for being in my life. I love you.

You are gone but will never be forgotten. I feel you spirit all around me. I will be seeing you in Heaven where we will be together again.

Love you so very much,
Mama
