My darling little westie,Daisy,passed on February 27th,and my heart is broken in a thousand pieces.you try reading about grief counseling on line,but so little helps the pain. I found this poem,who the author is,I don't know,but I keep it and my sweet girl's picture with me always, and can read it to get some comfort. I hope if you read it maybe it can offer you some comfort too.

Dogs just know
When they are loved....
even at the end,
when their pain becomes
too much to bear
and we help them to find rest.
