My Kindle

My Kindle

You came into my life as a tiny handful of fluff found in an open field.
Whimpering and afraid, you snuggled right into my arms as you found that perfect
comfortable place. You pressed your little head so close to my chest so you could listen to my heartbeat as it lulled you into a peaceful sleep. And you knew, it was my greatest pleasure to hold you for countless hours keeping you safe and warm. We both knew right then and there, we had a lifetime together.

You brought me so much joy and your energetic entertainment was endless. You
showered me with unconditional love slathered In big wet doggie kisses. You remained my constant companion throughout every peak and valley of our lives for the past 15 years. You were the big "sister" and the Alpha Dog to our little Phoebe dog...

Now my Kindle, my sweet fury friend, my child with 4 paws, my neurotic obsession as so many referred to you as. Today, I've given you the wings of an angel. A gift that comes with a bittersweet veil as this is my ultimate sacrifice as well as my greatest fear. See my baby girl, we were to be together forever, I never thought of you not being by my side. So it is this one last time, that you gently laid your head against my chest and I held as much of you as I could as close as I could. You listened
contently to the beat of my broken heart and through a flood of tears, looking into each other's eyes, I helped you cross over the rainbow bridge. And as you made your final journey, I know you heard me tell you how much I love you over and over and again.

You are and always will be my constant companion, my forever puppy love and my "Kindley Dog". Know that you're in my heart and in my every conscious thought. And I will know when I think of you, you'll sense mommy is here still feeling you next to me. Phoebe and I miss you, my beautiful, precious bundle of love, my one and my only Kindle....
