Although you could not speak
My love and my approval
Were the only things you'd seek

The pitter patter of your feet
Your greeting at the door
I'ts hard to express my feelings
Such a short time you were mine
You were so much more to me
Than just my old canine
I will never forget you
For now, we are apart
One day we'll be together again
