He died today, after nearly 16 years
not a surprise, we called it in
He began to drift
Legs with their own mind
but he was still willing to be with you.

Bike rides,
Boat rides,
Supervising Bill's yard work,
Fishing, hunting,
Always doing his part
He just wanted to be with you

Ice cream
cookies
turkey
cat food
but dog food???
Okay, if you insist.

I've learned your every move
every twitch and turn
I'll help you when you can't
