The vet confirmed this morning that a plumb sized tumor was wrapped around Moses intestines...He said it must of been growing for some time but it wasn't until the last week or so that Moses ate little or nothing at all and had rapid weight loss...He couldn't reach all the way up to me when he wanted me to pick him up. The last 2 days he could barely get around...mostly sleeping. He began to wobble when he walked...The vet referred to this as being "drunk with pain", stating that the pain was so intense that Moses could barely move. He was almost 15 yrs old...Euthanized this afternoon.
We adopted Moses and Sheeba at the same time in 1993 from Orphans of the Storm. Moses was only 6 months old. Actually it was around this time of year and after watching the 10 Commandments, decided his name. We went on to find out that Moses was truly a "scaredy cat"...would run and hide from all strangers...but he was such a little lover...a true lap cat...My husband would say that Moses was "in-love with me" because he would put his paw around my neck when I held him-and he ALWAYS wanted me to hold him) When I felt like dancing to a song on the radio...Moses was my dance partner...When I was finished and would put him down, he would stand on his hind legs for me to pick him back up gain...He slept on my right side for 14 yrs...(Sheeba had the left side).
Ohhh my God...this hurts so much...I know you know my pain...
Out of all the cats we had, Sheeba was the only one Moses ever got along with...I thank God he is finally pain free and has joined her at Rainbow Bridge...(along with Max, Noah, Elvis, Samantha, Pepper, River and Kitty Girl.) My heart hurts...Thank you for reading this.
