To Shylow

Shylow-
I miss you more than words can say. I remember the day I got the call about an OES pup in need. You were to be put down. All alone and scared in the shelter. Growling and barking was all you did. I walked up to you- you growled- I laughed. I sat- you sat. I told you you were a good boy and your whole demeanor changed. A wigglebutt that wouldn't quit! You were only supposed to be a rescue- but you won our hearts-even after you were deemed unadoptable. You were home with us. You protected us and fought so many of your demons from your past abuse. You worked so hard to please your family! You tried over and over to overcome your issues but mental illness was not to be ovecome. I miss you so much! Your big black nose- the way you used to sleep over my head and share my pillow. The way you used to fake Daddy out when he got the better spot in bed. Oh, Shylow! I wish I could have saved you! It's been over a year and I still feel as though losing you was yesterday. I just want you to know that you were and are loved!!! Never to be forgotten. You left a huge paw print on my heart!
Love,
Mommy
