Mollie
by Mandy Bowles.........................................
I adopted a cat, whose name was Mollie. She was adopted from a no-kill shelter in December of 2007. She was quite older than the other cats there and looked very healthy. I saw her picture on the website and she touched my heart. Though I differed with myself that I did not need another pet, I fell in love with that calico coat and bright green eyes. I went to pick her up, when I did, she purred in my arms as though she appreciated me loving her. Not only did I accept Mollie into my family, but I adopted another kitten as well. When she arrived at my home, she seemed so honored, acting like a queen, like we had given her gold. She quickly took to our family.

Mollie began getting ill in the end of January. I had her at the vet's office for three days. They ran several test, everything from Feline Aids to Leukemia. All was negative. I took her home. On February 18th we returned to the vet. She barely had the strength to hold her head. She was filled with infection from her kidneys and liver. After two days of praying, there was no change and no more blood could be drawn she was so ill. So, on February 21, 2008, I had to make the decision I could not. They had to put her down. I tell myself that she is not in pain, I am broken hearted. Then I read "Rainbow Bridge" and though it broke my heart at the same time it filled me with happiness, cause I know she finally found the love she needed and she will wait for me, to sleep on my pillow again.

Mollie, I love you dearly and though you were mine for a short while, I can not wait for the day that I will be able to love you and hold you again.
