Jake
by Margaret Ross.........................................
Jake you came into our lives 13 yrs ago as a 1 yr old free to good home border collie x kelpie.A friend for Rustee and me you gave us 100% devoted love as you never had it from your old owner over the years you have excepted other fur babies into our home with tail wagging and put up with all that young ones do.I know that over the last few months that I did not give you much time due to your sis Reba losing the use of her hind legs but this was all new to me I never had 1 of my babies lose the use of there legs and she depends on me to help her do everyday things that we take for granted. I know that Reba had a strong bond with you as she cried the morning before the vet rang and said that you had a bad night and then the following morning before the vet rang to say that it is not looking good she dragged her self out side to sit in your spot in the driveway.
The day that I had to let you go was very hard on me as when the vet walked you into me and your eyes lit up you had your smile that you give when you greet me and last of all the very slow wag of your tail and then you came at layed at my feet, that made it hard on me but when I looked into your eyes after 5 mins I could see that you where tired and it was time.I cuddled you as they did what had to be done and I did not even feel you leave me.I brought you home and I let Scrubbee and Reba and Roxy say there goodbyes to you before you where layed to rest next to Rustee.I know that we are having a hard time without you being here we all miss you like crazy,I miss you helping me feed the chooks and going down the paddock to feed Sunnie I now do it all on my own as the other babies where never ones for helping out like you did you where always by my side through the good and bad times. R.I.P
