Tomorrow, April 4, is the eighth anniversary of the death of our beloved Smokey. Smokey was a beautiful cat. So full of energy and so loving. As a little kitten, she came into our lives in 1995, and, of course, our entire family immediately fell in love with her. In 1998, Smokey was exposed to chemicals that were placed in a lawn. Consequently, all of her systems began to shut down. On April 4, 1998, Smokey left us. I have lost both of my parents, and although the grief I experienced when they died was pale to that I experienced when Smokey left us. My heart still hurts. Certain memories cause me to grieve all over again. I will someday see Little Smokey. I can't wait for her to welcome me by jumping into my arms.
