A day in a mans life is just 24hrs short
In our fury companions it's many days of thought!
Where is my master he or she will wonder!
They then hear the car pull up or the key in the door
Mum or dad or master hear there paws of thunder
as they race to greet us with an out stretched Jaw
or a jump into your arms and as usual we melt at their charms.
For all the mums and dads who dearly loved our little mate
those who waited patiently and willingly even when we were late
make every day and moment count'treat it as a great time as someday
that greeting will end.
and like me your heart will take time to mend.
Hold on to the happy memories and keep their spirit
in your heart as although you and he or she are apart
There will be a new start on the day your best mate will run fast up the ridge across the green meadows and over the rainbow bridge to again lick your face, turn circles and whimper with joy he/she will
want to try and jump in your open arms but you won't see him clearly
because your eyes are filled with tears! Why as you will surly cry.
