My Night Visitor
by Maureen Whitman.........................................
I have had many wonderful and loving cats. All were unique in their own special way. However, Tiball, my brown tiger guy, was by far the most loving of any cat I ever had. He and his brother, Blackie, were abandoned near a warehouse and my husband could not resist taking them home. They were about 3 months old. Tiball loved to chase balls, thus his name, and he always came to me when I was napping on the couch to kiss my nose and then snuggle down behind my legs.
He lived to be almost 17, and had developed kidney problems, as so many older cats do. I cried for weeks when we lost him.
That was almost ten years ago now. At times I still feel him nearby in this house. One night, not very long ago, I was restlessly trying to get to sleep. I was drifting off when suddenly I felt something like a cat who had just jumped on the foot of the bed. I froze, and then felt something snuggle up at the back of my legs.
I KNEW it was Tiball! I said, " Hi Tiball, stay with me tonite."
I felt he was telling me that he will not leave me, and that he is waiting for me. I know in my heart that all my cats will be waiting at the Bridge. God has made that their special place, their own part of Heaven. I know some might think that I was dreaming but I was awake and know that my "night visitor" was my Tiball.
Til we meet again dear friend, I hope you will always stay nearby.
