Our doberman, Sargeant, was diagnosed with Cardiomyopathy in October of 2006 as he was approaching 7 yrs. We celebrated his birthday on 11/5/2006, his medication seemed to be helping him and he still wanted to go for walks. Sargeant fought hard and tried to maintain his dignity and pride by trying to beat the pain he was enduring. I'll never forget looking into his sad eyes and telling him how much we love him and how sorry we were that he was going thru this. He was so full of life, he loved taking walks and playing with his other brothers but all of the sudden this illness hit him hard the last week in February and our sweet boy lost his strength and was in alot of pain. My husband and I are heart broken and I never thought I could grieve so much over a dog, but they are like our children and they give us so much love everyday. It just seems so unfair our pets don't live as long as we do. I guess that's why God has the Rainbow Bridge for all of us to meet our pets again in peace. I hope to see him again so we can cross the Rainbow Bridge together. Thanks for reading this, my heart goes out to all of you who have lost their pet.
