An orange Maine Coon Cat, the size of two
I watch him bite and tackle his siblings
In a pet store terrarium, he was doing his thing
I picked up my film, and rushed straight to my house
And told all my friends, about this kitten I’d found
I told them of how, he was the King of all cats
A feline Mike Tyson, a muscle-bound brat
I brought him right home, he started raising hell
He pissed on my bedspread, God, did it smell
He tore up my furniture, he jumped in my food
I said to myself, there’s something wrong with this dude
I brought him to my store, he somehow got out
He ran to the Safeway, the meat section, no doubt
He tore up some steaks and some ground beef too
The store manager laughed and said I feel sorry for you
I took him on plane ride, to the lower 48
June 18, 1993 was the date
He was there for me, when Rod passed away
He’d just lost his daddy, but it was near me that he stayed
He grew old and handsome, this big red coon cat
But he was still the King, there’s no doubt about that
Although he lived to be just twelve years old
He still lives inside me, deep in my soul
A chunk of my heart, will forever ache
My Myka Tysohn, I’ll never replace
He’s been gone a year now, come the 6th of May
I still shed a tear, when I think of him to this day
He was my best friend, my companion, my buddy, my pet
No other animal will match this, I’ll bet
Forever and ever, no matter what’s going on
I’ll forever love, my Myka Tysohn
