My little kitty
by Muirin Lakely.........................................
I was only 4 when my mom took me to the pet store. I chose a little kitten that was with his mother. I named that little kitten Jack. A week later my brothers found a little kitten in the bathroom closet after returning from camp. By that Christmas I had become close to Jack. When I had to leave for kindergarten I didn't wanna leave my little "brother" at home for 3 hours a day. When I was down Jack would purr and curl up in my lap. If I was in the bath Jack would stand on the tub edge and stick his paw in, if I was in a shower Jack would get in the shower with me. Jack silently cheered me on and cheered me up just by meowing. When I won my awards in fourth grade Jack was there to congratulate me. I went off to camp that summer, still hesitant to leave Jack at home. At the end of the summer, for a new school Jack died the day before the last day of summer. I know Jack waits at the Rainbow Bridge for me to arrive in Heaven. I still miss my little furry brother.
