my beloved Dixie
by Nicole ferrone .........................................
My sweet Dixie you will always be with me
For my heart waits till we met again by the edge of the sea.
Your beauty and power has always inspired me
No please do not blame me
I was not there that fatefull day when the train hit thee.
But I will always remeber you and me.
I can never replace you
and there are only a few that could ever amount to you.
But me and my little girl will always carry you
In our hearts and in our dreams
With love always to my sweet Dixie

For those who do not know Dixie was a mustang spanish decent horse. She was stubon at times but who isn't and she had a bad habbit of getting out of the pasture wheather is was rolling under the fence or jumping it she always managed to amaze me. We had her for three years, she helped me teach my little girl the importance or a horse and how to ride. I can't help but to cry when I think that I could have stopped the train. I went to the gym that morning like any other day and when I got back she was gone. I knew something was wrong this time and we looked for five hours. I finally found her not to far from where her filly was she was just visiting her baby. I don't understand why I lost her this way but I will never forget her. We buried her in an old open feild and now all I have left are a few pictures and memories. I lost my dad a few months before and the only thing I could tell my little girl was that papa needed a good horse to ride in heaven. It helped a little but we still cry together when we remeber our sweet dixie and papa. After I lost my horse I lost my world I was depressed and couldn't concentrat on anything. About two months ago I finally broke down and had to buy another horse and now I have two. they are my world but still can never replace Dixie I have a feeling shes watching over me when I ride and she knows I miss her. I think of her everytime I cross the tracks or hear the train.
R.I.P my sweet Dixie
