To my lil baby,

Raising you was so scary…

But loving you was incredibly easy.

You fit in my palm, so fragile and so sweet.

You relied on me completely.

So, I bottle fed you, I kept you warm, and I loved you so very deeply.

But before I knew it, I was the one who relied on you routinely.

You loved me, brought me comfort, and gave me something to look forward to daily.

So, when you had to leave, my heart didn’t just break- it shattered.

You deserved more time than you got, but the love I felt was worth a lifetime.

So, yes, raising you was scary, but i’d do it again a million times.

You may have thought I was your rescuer,

But actually, you were mine.
