Christmas n' Winter Fun
by Nina Brosdahl.........................................
I remember when Mama would decorate the tree and hang the stockings. I would get so excited. I loved this time of the year. It was so festive and fun. Mama and Papa would put the train under the tree and I would lay there for hours just watching it go around and around. You would think I would have gotten dizzy..but..never! Mama played Christmas music and I loved the soft sounds. She would dance around the house and sing and it made me get even more excited for what was to come. Mama would place the presents under the tree and I never touched them. Not ever! I loved to go outside and play in the snow. I would climb to the top of the highest pile of snow, and sit there. I loved the view. Mama would say to me "Mousssssse" and with that I would dive into the snow banks and dig for mice. When you live in the country you get a lot of them. I would pull them out and lay them on the snow..Never enjoyed the taste. Papa would take them away. Sometimes I would see a cat come through our acreage. I got so excited to play with them. Some were friendly and others were a bit scared. But, after many encounters with them and them knowing I would bring no harm to them..they would come to me. Then we would play. I was raised with Mama's cats and if Mama loved them..then I did too. They were my buddies. When I came into the house, Papa would always wipe my feet, so I would not get the wood floors wet. I got so used to it, that I routinely lifted my paws. Mama always had a treat for me when I came in from romping around in the snow. It was my favorite. A GREENIE! I would have done cartwheels for a Greenie. I want you to know Mama N' Papa..that I am only as far from you, as you choose me to be. I'll be home for Christmas..because I will always be in your Heart. Hold that Memory of me close to you always..and smile.. I am waiting for you at Rainbows Bridge oneday. I will always love you Mama N' Papa and I will always remember Christmas and Winter Fun. Love Beau (Beausie)
