My Ozzie boy
by Ozzie .........................................
My story is Ozzie. We adopted him from the shelter when he was a year and a half old. He had been there for six months, after being relequished. He was adopted once but returned. When I saw him, he called to my heart and I knew "that's my dog!". From day one, he filled our home with his energy and loving spirit. He was always there for us, he was always with us. I didn't realize there could be such a bond. He was meant to be ours, we were meant to be his.
He died three years ago from cancer. It was one of the hardest things we've gone through. To know I would be loosing my beloved Ozzie Boy, my friend, my companion, my protector, was hard to accept. Finally, his last day did come. I was with him when he passed. It comforts me to know the last thing he heard was my voice, the last thing he felt was me petting and kissing him. He slipped away quietly. With him when the spirit and energy he brought to our home, but luckily he still resides in our hearts and minds. I miss him every day. I miss him waiting at the front door when I get home from work. I miss him laying on my feet on cold nights, keeping me warm. I miss his kisses, happy smile and loving eyes. I will treasure the moment we meet again.
My sweet boy, I will always love and miss you. But I thank you for coming into our lives and I cherish our time together.
