Vrai Bouvier, au double sens,
Berger aussi ; chien de défense ;
Pisteur suprême, "Grand-Nez" sans doute :
Il volait haut, et puis , la chute.
Le mieux ami dans tout le monde,
Toujours gentil, une âme profonde.
Ci gît les os de "Bones,"
Modèle des chiens,
Qui faisait tout,
Et qui le fit tout bien !


True Bouvier, in doubled sense,
Shepherd as well ; dog of defense ;
Greatest nose upon the track :
He flew so high , and then , fell back.
Gentle, faithful, loving friend,
Courageous soul unto the end.
Here lie the bones of "Bones,"
More perfect dog than words can tell,
Who did it all
And did all well !
