I'm sending this message to those of you who may or may not have known our Maggie. She was such a special dog, I feel like she deserves a memorial tribute:
Maggie was a BIG part of our lives the last nine years. She took up a quite sizeable part of our home. Maggie always had an identity crisis-thinking she was a cuddly lap dog. She loved being invited to share a spot in the bed or on the sofa. Her heart was huge. She wanted nothing more than to spend time with her family and keep a protective eye on us. She filled each day with energy. She met you at the door with a toy ready to play or just to bring you a gift. She always respected visitor's--But if she was asked to play was always ready with the tennis ball or one of her favorite toys.
Maggie touched my heart the way no dog ever has. She was a beautiful dog, patient, brave, steadfast and loyal, playful, loving, gentle but most of all a very special part of the family. Maggie was brave until the end wanting to get up and be by her master's side. Disease may have made her physically weak but it never weakened her big heart.
We will miss her very much and her many characteristics that made her "Our Maggie". Billy Graham was once asked if he thought his animals would be in Heaven. His reply was,"God will prepare everything for our perfect happiness in heaven, and if it takes my dog being there, I believe he'll be there".
I find comfort in his statement. I believe Maggie and all my lost pets will be waiting at the gate in heaven., ready for some playtime.
Thank you for indulging me,
Pam
