Sammy
by Pam Moore.........................................
I am crying so hard right now. I love cats and have 4 beautiful babies of my own all rescued from shelters or the street. I would go often and visit my Mom and that is where I first met Sammy. He was a beautiful orange tabby but had the saddest eyes you could ever imagine. He belonged to my mother's next door neighbors and they left him out all the time. My Mom would leave bowls of food and water for him, and blankets in the winter time when he was cold. I knew he needed help but kept thinking, "he is not my cat, I cannot do anything". Oh if only I had the chance to do it all over, as you may have guessed, Sammy is dead. He died last Saturday night, hit by a car. I feel so guilty, I should have picked him up and brought him home and helped him. His eyes begged for love and nobody helped him. Now he is gone forever. My heart is broken. Never again will I look the other way and hope for the best. The best only comes when you save them. Thank you for reading, Pam
