Was the night before Christmas and all through the house not a creature was stirring not even a mouse? While waiting for the sounds from Rainbow Bridge, what do I hear it's Sassy calling me? I'm here mom can you see me? I got up and went to the back door as my clock was chiming. I went out on the back porch the moon shinning bright and the stars shinning bright. I look up above Sassy grave and a bright star twinkle at me, and then herd her bark. It was such a sweet sound to me. My Sassy calling me. After a little while others join in for a little while then they left and it was just Sassy and me. I stood there the longest time my eyes closed and could picture Sassy and me at the Christmas tree year after year opening her gifts. Sassy giving me her puppy kisses and me kissing her and hugging her, not wanting to let go. Oh what joy it was. It was like she was still here with me. We cuddle and gave each other kisses, not wanting it to end. Then she told me it was time for her to go back and join the others at Rainbow Bridge. I held her close one last time not wanting it to end. She said don't worry mom, I will be back when you need to feel me close again. Just think of me and close your eyes and you will see me. I know I am in your thoughts and on your mind a lot, you see I am with you all the time in your heart. I will wait for you at Rainbow Bridge, and then we will never part again. I didn't want this to end but then I new Sassy was in Gods hands.
I will live out my life as God plans knowing that when the day comes and I cross over that Sassy will meet me and we will walk the streets of gold together. Thank you God for letting Sassy come to me on your son's birthday. What a gift.
Thank you,
Patricia E.
