Cleo came into my life on June 20,1989. She came when I was looking for a friend. It turned out her mother died after giving birth. She was the only surviving kitten of the litter and was taken care by one of my neighbors.(I found this out later.) I came home from work and heard meowing in the backyard. Her brothers and sisters who were strays also lived there. Myself and my landlady fed them. Cleo was so tiny and alone.I took her in. She had my heart from the beginning. We played and laughed often. A few years went by and I got married and had children. It took her quite awhile for her to be comfortable around the kids, but one of my sons took the time to befriend her and they became quite close and little by little she accepted the love from my other children and looked forward being with them. It's hard to put into words how everyone took care of her and loved her and she was always there to love or comfort. We knew for a few months her kidneys were not in great shape but she was sick for only a few days before the end. There is not enough space here to remember everything about her. She died Jan.5,2008. 18 1/2 wonderful years. She will surely be missed.
