Belle
by Patty Scott.........................................
Today I lost my best friend. Her name is Belle. My daughter named her almost 14 years ago.Alex was a sweet little nine year old girl walking home from the school bus. This little black dog followed her home. There were other children, but she choose Alex. The little black doggy became Belle.Alex named her Belle from the movie "The Beauty and the Beast". Time went on.Alex went on to college in Maryland.I cried,Belle comforted me.Belles daddy had to go to work out of town for almost three years.I cried,Belle comforted me.Lifes ups and downs.Belle, she was always there with a wagging tail and sweet face.
Well today,October 6,2007 at 10:30 A.M. Belle crossed the Rainbow Bridge.Mast Cell cancer had taken her.She was so brave as all doggies are.She woke up limping. Her cancer was on her back left leg in the joint. She was not breathing well.I gave her pain meds, but it was not to be this time.Off to the vets.
That was the last time.I held her in my arms. She went to the Bridge.I thought my heart was going to explode. The vet put his arms around me and told me she was truely gone. Time,10:30A.M.
It was a cloudy and misty morning here in beautiful North Carolina. However,at 10:45A.M. the glorious SUN came out and I have no doubt that Belle had arrived at the Bridge. She has ran over the Bridge and is now healthy and young. She is with all the other sweet pets,of all kinds, she got along with all of Gods creatures. They have welcomed her and they are all playinng and running in the sun.
Belle will wait until my husband and I get there to hold her and pet her sweetlittle head. You know how I know she will wait? Because her love for us can not be put down in words.Even though I am writing this through so many tears I can hardly see,I know her journey is complete and she is in her heavenly home now.Thankgoodness Belle chose Alex to follow home from the school bus that day 14 years ago.
Thankyou BELLE for letting us walk with you on your earthly journey.WE LOVE YOU AND MISS YOU DESPARTLY
