BoosieWoof
by Patty Linsner.........................................
Boosie is not the kind of dog I ever thought I would own. Let alone live in my house. He's a pit bull / liver doberman cross breed. When he was about three months old, he was living with my son, Cole Meadows. I had seen a picture of him on Facebook, and commented that that was the dumbest looking dog I had ever seen. He has dobie eyebrows, one ear that stands up, and the other that flops over. In January of 2011, when Boosie was about three months old, my son came to me very upset because he was told he couldn't keep this breed of dog at his apartment. I told him to bring the puppy to my house and we'd figure something out. It only took one night of keeping Boosie that let me know he was going to stay with me. I told my son not to worry, that he would have a home with me.

Boosie came to me at a time when I was going through one of the most difficult situations I had ever been through. And each time I have had to face challenges, through the emotional recovery, Boosie has been such a comfort! He's so smart, and so devoted to me, I can hardly stand to leave him for any reason but to go to work. I would drive 20 minutes every day just to go home for ten minutes and have lunch with him. Now my work and home is closer, so we have time for a longer lunch. He's my best bubby, and has truly saved my life, his loyalty to me through several difficult bumps in the road over the past two years has kept me going to the point that I was finally able to be okay. This dog will forever have a place in my heart and home.

He still knows who his boy is, though - when my son comes home from Marine Corps, Boosie watches for him every day. When my son leaves again, Boosie will watch for him out the window for two weeks, and pine a little, misses his boy.

Cole, this dog is the best gift I have ever received! He is such a blessing, I can't thank you enough, and I want you to know that he will always be with me. Love, Mom
