My Precious George
by Patty Tydings.........................................
George was 17 when I had to send him to the Rainbow Bridge on Wednesday April 19, 2006. George was 10 when i adopted him. He belonged to a friend of my mom's who moved into a over 50 Community and could not have George there. After 2 days of talking, my mom & I went to the Vet's Office and brought him home. He was the most wonderful cat I have ever had,,,so sweet and loving (he was a Cameo Persian). He had been failing for awhile, but Wednesday night I just knew it was time,,,,he was unable to move his back legs,,,,he was pulling himself with his front. I spent all night awake with him,,,holding him and kissing him,,,softly whispering it was ok to go,,,that I loved him and knew it was best. At the Vet's office, I had 10 more minutes to spend with him and tell him how much I Loved him and what a joy he was too me. The Vet came in and told me what was going to happen. I just couldn't watch the injection that I knew was going to take him from me, so I turned my head. A few minutes later, my Vet said "You might want to look down",,,,when I did, George was looking up at me with the eyes that had Loved me for so long. With tears in my eyes, I leaned down to kiss his head & once again tell him just how much I Loved him. He lifted his head and licked my chin,,,,put his sweet head down on my arm and took his last breathe. There was no need for the injection,,,George waited for me all day to be with him and let me know that it was ok & he was ready to go, but didn't want to leave me without seeing me one last time. That was so precious,,,,it is something I will remember for the rest of my life.
I Love George for that,,,he really knew just how difficult this was for me and he was supporting me, just like I was supporting him.

Be happy Sweet George,,,I'll see you soon.
