I answered an ad in the newspaper in my home town that read free puppies. I was looking for a dog for my mother and I. I arrived at the farm and saw the 5 week old mix breed puppies. Immediately I was in love. I said that I would take one but I didn't know which one. There were about 10 of them. A little 8 year old boy said that they were all nice and I could have as many as I wanted. I chuckled. Then all of a sudden the furriest puppie came and sat at my feet. She was the cutiest of the whole bunch. I told the little boy that this was the one I wanted. That was 12 years ago and my little puppie (Pepper) grew into a loving companion and my best friend. She was the child I never had. I got married in 2003 and Pepper took to my husband like you wouldn't believe. They were best buddies. They went everywhere together. My husband broke his leg and Pepper stayed in bed with him all day long. When my other dog (Coco who was a stray) would try to get up on the bed Pepper would growl at him. That was her Daddy and no one else's. He is really having a hard time with her untimely death. We both miss her so much and can't wait to see her again.
