Touched by an Angel- Dyna
by Peggie Broadley.........................................
How do you start off a story of a beautiful little Siamese girl that has now gone to heaven. She was born 11-3-2007 so she only lived 5 short years-way too short for our hearts.

She and her brother were my Christmas present in 2007. Cute little adorable kittens. Dyna was the wild child-thus her name. Her daddy affectionately referred to her has "Dyna Vyna Schnitzel". Her brother was the lover, so we named him Phylo. They were typical kittens, getting into trouble all of the time. Dyna would walk on the outside of a 2 story railing with no problem. Her brother tried and fell off twice-he gave up. They would chase each other around the house knocking over lamps and other things. Dyna used to pick on her brother as in the beginning, she was the larger of the two. Phylo got even as he grew up.
As some may know, Siamese are night kitties. They sleep all day and play all night. Due to this, and us needing sleep, they slept in the basement. Not that they lacked for anything, their own comfy chair and heater right next to it. I remember getting them a new pillow for them to sleep on. Dyna would have nothing to do with it, she kept pulling it off the chair. I finally had to cover it with a blanket and she left it alone. They are so smart, all you had to do was open the basement door and say "it's time for bed". They would go running downstairs.
They loved to play with their toys, mostly mice. Dyna's always had to be pink or she would not play with it. I thought they said animals were color blind???? Inevitably, they would lose their mice under the washer or a piece of furniture, and sit there until you retrieved it for them. If you weren't around, all you had to do was ask them where their mouse was, and they would walk right over to where they had lost it. They had a wand with a long soft piece of material that they would carry around in their mouths. It was much larger than they were so it was quite amusing.

From the start, they were both very loving, affectionate kittens. Dyna was my girl, and Phylo was a Daddy's boy. Dyna had a motor boat purr that I swear you could hear from miles away. She would come snuggle up with me, every chance she got. This girl could contort into positions that you would not think possible, and go to sleep. She loved to be rubbed-her ears-her tail-even between her toes, and purr and purr.
This was a great experience for my husband and I as the last cat we had, Rippy-who was also a Siamese, was less than affectionate. Although, I have no doubt that he loved us.

Oh, and showers, forget about trying to shower alone. Dyna would wait patiently for me to shower. As soon as she heard the water turn off, she was in the tub... I could not even get dried off as this was now her domain. Try brushing your teeth with Dyna in the sink-all things I will truly miss.

At only 1 1/2 years old, Dyna went into kidney failure, and almost died. It was heart wrenching as once the kidneys are damaged, they do not regenerate. We knew from that time on, any days we had left with her would be a blessing. She lasted 2 1/2 more years-my girl was a fighter. She became Daddy's girl for the last year of her life. She only came on my lap for this last month.

My favorite memory....she escaped from the basement one night. All of a sudden I hear this loud motorboat purr and am receiving head butts on my face and hand. I laughed so hard, I couldn't be mad.

Today, she asked us to let her go. The pain was too much for her. With great respect, her wish was granted.
Please pray for her and her brother. She is going to be greatly missed. The only time I have seen my husband cry, is when he lost his mother, and our other animals. Losing Dyna broke our hearts.....
Phylo does not know what it is like not to have his Sissy....I know his heart will be broken also....

May she roam through the meadows and play with the butterflys and experience all the natural wonders she has not seen in her lifetime...
