A True Glimpse of Heaven
by Rachel Elaine.........................................
I see you
running through thick carpeting
of tall, green grasses and flowering meadows.

I watch you
with your hair, longer than ever,
waving in easy breeze of your movements.

I see you
are healthy, full of life and youth's vigor
with space enough to run until the space of forever.

You see me,
pausing your frolick for a moment,
to give me that joyful smile I know so well.

You see I
need to know that you are alright,
to let you go with accepting and happy heart.

You tell me
with your eyes so bright
of your complete love and gratitude.

And you tell me,
you will return right there
when I am finally free to run to you.

Seeing this "vision" and writing about it has been the only thing that has ended my days of grief. Our beloved 14-year old Golden Retriever, Kelby suddenly became crippled in his hind legs and a pinched nerve in his bladder. The cause found was a fast-growing tumor (cancer) in his spine.
It has been the hardest thing - to let Kelby go. But we loved him too much to see him suffer for one day more. He was an irreplacable once-in-a-lifetime dog who will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
