Sprocket
by Regina .........................................
My brother has a house in NY State and two great dogs, one old humble friend of many years nd one young 3 yr old named Sprocket. She had a big head(boxer, dalmation mix) and loved people. She was found in the woods as a puppy, abandoned and alone and was adopted from a shelter some 6 months or less years of age. She was a very large dog who would sleep on your body with her head on yours. She loved company and hated to see anyone go. She loved chicken on her dry food and loved her older companion friend Champ. It came as a great shock this week as her health suddenly declined and she became listless and unmoving. She qasn't her old self and her tummy bean to swell. The vet didn't dee anything wrong and she as sent home. Again she was returned to be told she had an aggressive cancer that would not or could not be fixed. Chemo would only prolong her agony. I feel a great loss today because she was like my own. Always a wagging tail and slappy paw on your chest whenever a visitor came by. Always eager to eat,and run through the woods with friends and her Buddy. Today she was put to rest so her pain will be no more. It's those she left behind that will remember her short time here and the great dog she was forever.
